Domestic car sales bounced back to grow 2.6% year-on-year in August after dipping 0.4% in July to 60,635 vehicles. For the first eight months, domestic car sales rose by 0.2% year-on-year to 492,874 units. Car production for the period totalled 1.3 million units, up 3.4% year-on-year, with exports up nearly 1% at 788,161 units. Domestic sales rose by 4.6% to 1.19 million units, while CBU and CKD shipments fell by 6.6% to 592,305 units. The country's car production in 2016 is expected to increase by 2-4% to 1.95-2 million units.
